 Genesis Curriculum

Genesis Christian Academy provides our students and parents with a loving, nurturing, and supportive environment. The Genesis Curriculum is embedded in chapter one of the Book of Genesis. This curriculum is designed to engage the child's spiritual, emotional, and physical aspects and experience a living, loving, consistent God who can be trusted. This curriculum ministers to the individual's mind, body, and soul. The curriculum includes hands-on activities, project-based learning, research, field trips, and peer interactions. The Genesis curriculum covers Math (elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, pre-calculus, applied math); Bible Prophecy, History, Geography-- before and after the flood; Science (biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy & physiology, astronomy, botany, earth science; English writing, and reading comprehension; Gardening, bread making, and sewing.  Students will learn the art and science of gardening and build a garden. Students will learn sewing skills and be able to construct a garment. 

Most courses have a project or problem-based activity. This approach is designed to develop critical thinking, inquiry, and creativity, apply knowledge in solving real-life problems, and develop real-life skills, such as designing water filters, exploring different types of gardening, and using natural resources to produce energy.  

The curriculum has integrated virtual and in-person field trips to sites that would bring alive lessons or concepts. The Genesis curriculum is designed for diverse classrooms, differentiated learning, multiple intelligences, and learning styles. Genesis curriculum is aligned with the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy standards. It is rigorous and will produce students to be successful in this world and the world to come.

     Academic

Bible 

The Bible course is very engaging.  The students will learn how to analyze Bible text.  Discussions are encouraged to understand others' perceptions and understanding.  Students are required to read and make summaries independently.  Students will also develop Bible lessons.

Prophecy /History

Prophecy of scripture connects History with the Bible. "One is the prophecy; the other is a revelation" (AA 585.1). Students will analyze what the Bible says about the past, present, and future kingdoms.

Geography

Geography covers land masses before and after the flood.  

Science

Science tells an amazing story of God, the Creator, and His creation in concert with the Bible. Science covers chemistry, physics, biology, earth & space Science, anatomy & physiology, genetics, botany, and zoology. When cross-discipline teaching practices are applied to Science, a transformation occurs, and a holistic view of the creation process is in unison.

Christian literature is designed to teach Christian values. Students will learn and master the skills of reading and writing. 

English Literature & Writing

Math is applied in all of God's creation.  Students will come to enjoy, understand,  master, and apply mathematical skills in real-life situations.  Math includes pre-algebra, algebra 1, 2, geometry, pre-calculus, infinite math.

Mathematics

Industrial skills

Based on the true education blueprint, industrial training is regarded as a duty. Every youth is required to have some useful trade. Industrial courses include sewing and bread making, Students will learn the art of sewing and be exposed to designing their own garments. They will learn and explore different types of gardening, and plant a garden.
